This one of a kind heirloom art doll was handcrafted in Australia by Melbourne artist Kate Karsten. Each doll is signed and dated.
Made with beautiful natural materials using antique cotton, linen, wool, and lace. Warm, gentle and cosy to hold she is made from tea stained cotton. Her limbs are carefully hand stitched with wooden button joints so they can move. Each doll is delicately dusted with a special soft powder.
Her hair is made from 100% Australian alpaca wool and is carefully hand stitched into place. Detailed features are hand stitched with cotton. Her delicate dress with lining is made from linen, lace and cotton.
Beautiful soft cloak is made with woollen fabric, cotton lining and velvet ties. A cosy crochet shawl is made from wool.
Fine bloomers are made from antique linen tied with silk. She wares a cotton undergarment wrap that ties around the back. Little boots are hand painted with teeny-tiny laces.
Her hair is hand stitched in place therefore cannot be brushed. Little laces are also hand stitched in place therefore cannot be removed. Her dress, shawl and bloomers are removable.
Due to the delicate nature of being handmade she is very fragile, therefore unsuitable for young children.
An Heirloom art doll to be cherished for many generations to come.
